Good weather, perfect day for a trip to Holland! No kendo, but, believe me, a lot of exercise!

Witten: Sato Rie and Horibe Akemi, year 10!
Since I live in the Netherlands, I try not to miss Witten: I met Sato and Horibe sensei in many other occasions, mainly in Japan, and having them just a couple of hours away seems too good to be true!
Watching them is always inspiring (since they represent the top lady kendo in Japan, i.e. in the world): the charming, youthful energy of Horibe Akemi (which is more her life philosphy, not only a way to practice kendo) and the class and strength of Sato Rie (this year surprising us with a special "technical" bodysuit!) are a great combination. The friendship and the chemistry of the two is really working: they have fun and they love to be together.
And of course I adore seeing old friends and new faces: it's so exciting seeing the new generations: fast, technical and so dedicated, and also meeting the "old rocks", the backbone of European lady kendo as we know it!

Kihon no kata and kendo no kata... what a great way to make some good exercise for "sae"...
I was so happy to see Sato and Horibe sensei again! I love the energy and the atmosphere of this seminar, thanks to all the ladies who took part... Sigrun did a marvellous job (10 years!!!) and now it's the turn of Kei to keep up the good work, with her own style: good luck, all the best! However, with such sensei, it can only be first class!
