Sensei in Utrecht

Good weather, perfect day for a trip to Holland! No kendo, but, believe me, a lot of exercise!

Witten: Sato Rie and Horibe Akemi, year 10!

Since I live in the Netherlands, I try not to miss Witten: I met Sato and Horibe sensei in many other occasions, mainly in Japan, and having them just a couple of hours away seems too good to be true!
Watching them is always inspiring (since they represent the top lady kendo in Japan, i.e. in the world): the charming, youthful energy of Horibe Akemi (which is more her life philosphy, not only a way to practice kendo) and the class and strength of Sato Rie (this year surprising us with a special "technical" bodysuit!) are a great combination. The friendship and the chemistry of the two is really working: they have fun and they love to be together.
And of course I adore seeing old friends and new faces: it's so exciting seeing the new generations: fast, technical and so dedicated, and also meeting the "old rocks", the backbone of European lady kendo as we know it!

I was so happy to see Sato and Horibe sensei again! I love the energy and the atmosphere of this seminar, thanks to all the ladies who took part... Sigrun did a marvellous job (10 years!!!) and now it's the turn of Kei to keep up the good work, with her own style: good luck, all the best! However, with such sensei, it can only be first class!

Tre donne al comando...

Alla Fumetsu Cup di Rotterdam, donne arbitro per la finale! Squadre da tre, miste, estratte a sorte, ma bilanciate per grado. Bella finale con encho dei capitani - begli ippon, bel kendo! Per una volta mi concentro sugli arbitri al femminile, visto che nella finale eravamo addirittura tre... Joke, Jolanda ed io: dopo tanti anni di Campionati Europei "contro", ora finalmente "insieme"...

Seminario di Witten 2009

Care tutte, in ottobre (16, 17 e 18) a Witten, si svolgerà il decimo (10!!!) seminario condoto da Sato Rie, con la presenza di Horibe Akemi! io ci andrei anche a piedi, conto sempre di vedere qualche italiana (di nuovo da Verona?), non perdete questo appuntamento!

Appuntamento a Novara 2012

Finalmente il conto alla rovescia può avere inizio... finalmente il percorso che abbiamo iniziato anni fa ha prodotto i risultati che ci aspettavamo: Moretti nel Board of Directors della European Kendo Federation e Novara incoronata città del Mondiale 2012. Siamo dove ci meritiamo di essere come terza federazione di Kendo di Europa per numero di iscritti e prima per numero di yudansha. Speriamo che tutto questo sia di buon auspicio per i prossimi riconoscimenti sullo shiai-jo!
